We build genealogy software to help you do better research. You own your data. We don't sell it.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Goldie May, or 16 in jurisdictions where that is the required minimum. If you are under 18, you may use Goldie May with permission from a parent or guardian. If we learn that a user is below the applicable age, we will terminate the account and delete their data.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account, including activity by anyone you grant access to. Let us know at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

If you are using Goldie May's free plan, it is really free: we don't ask for your credit card and we don't sell your data.
You own everything you create in Goldie May—your research, notes, projects, and any data you enter. We don't claim any ownership of your content.
We need a limited license to host and display your content back to you (we can't run the service otherwise). This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
If you cancel or your subscription lapses, your data is preserved. You can reactivate anytime to regain access. If you'd like an export of your data, contact us at [email protected].
We generally don't look at your data. When we do, it's for purposes like support, troubleshooting, security, or legal compliance.
The Goldie May browser extension captures data from genealogy websites to support your research. You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of any website you use the extension on.
The AI assistant is a research aid, not a professional genealogist. AI models can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or entirely fictitious information—including names, dates, and relationships that don't exist. Always verify AI output against primary sources before relying on it or adding it to permanent records.
AI conversations are processed by third-party providers as described in our privacy policy.
Genealogy involves interpretation of incomplete, sometimes contradictory records. Goldie May is a tool to assist your research, not a guarantee of accuracy.
Goldie May connects to external platforms like FamilySearch, Ancestry, and others. Data retrieved from those platforms is subject to their respective terms. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party services.
You own your content. We own ours. The Goldie May software, design, logos, and trademarks are our property. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond normal use of the service. You may not duplicate, copy, or reuse any portion of the design or code without written permission.
All content you post must comply with U.S. copyright law. If you believe content on Goldie May infringes your copyright, contact us at [email protected].
We may pause the service for maintenance or modify features over time. We are not liable for interruptions caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Goldie May is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Goldie May is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to hold Goldie May harmless from claims arising out of your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.
You can stop using Goldie May at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Goldie May means you accept the current terms.
Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Utah. These terms are governed by Utah law. You and Goldie May each agree to resolve disputes individually—not as part of a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms are the entire agreement between you and Goldie May regarding the service.
